(Note: Douglas Lake is a TVA impoundment of the French Broad River, and TVA lowers the water level during the fall and winter months. When the lake is at "full pool" we have approximately 12 feet of water depth off the outside of the dock and 21 feet of depth in the middle of Flat Creek. This is adequate for swimming, fishing, boating etc.. When the water level is lowered, the Circles dock is "high and dry", but we are left with a pleasant mountain stream curling up directly below the dock. No guarantees can, or will, be given as to available water levels. Historical water level charts are available online. Experience seems to indicate that there is usually boatable water to the dock from around the middle of April until mid to late September.)
